If the Santa Shirt fits...

Today Dan donned his Santa shirt (for the third and, sadly, final year) and made an early morning trek to the mall for breakfast with Santa.

After a breakfast of a mini-bagel, mini-donuts and mini-chocolate milk (sometimes healthy is over-rated), Santa visited each table.

We were the last table to be visited and, surprisingly, the first to get a posed photo. Missed opportunity for us? No way!

Daniel showed Santa the letter he'd written.

Santa promised to take it under advisement. Santa commented to Daniel about his special shirt, asking, "Are you planning to trap ME like that?" Oh, yeah.

Afterward, Santa read "The Night Before Christmas" to the children.

Dan piped up right afterward, as you'll see if you manage to make it to the end of this video:

The kids then got an opportunity to make some reindeer food, mixing Cheerios, oatmeal and glitter. Apparently sprinkling your lawn with this food helps the reindeer find your home...

We had a great time together.

Dan will have outgrown the Santa shirt by next year. We have a few years yet before other holiday traditions are outgrown. I hope we're creating enough wonderful memories, though, that he will cherish sharing the holidays with his children as much as I enjoy sharing them with him.
