For the past few years my father and stepmother have generously offered to fly the entire family to the Bahamas for some special Thanksgiving memories. This was the second year Pete, Daniel and I have attended, and we had a great time - and a few glitches.
The first glitch involved a three hour delay in our flight. Since we were good little Americans and arrived two hours early for our international flight (and why, TSA, did you confiscate my Tide-To-Go pen? Do you know how much that is needed by us bigger-busted girls?!!), that meant five hours in Ft. Lauderdale International Airport. No problem. We know we have 3 days of fun and sun ahead of us! Dan even took a nap.
They had to switch airplanes, so we wound up in a fifteen seater. One aisle on each side of the plane. This was Daniel's first time on an airplane, and he was thrilled. He kept saying, "Airplane! Up! Sky! Airplane!". It was so fun to watch him. The flight was bumpy, so I was a bit green around the gills. When Daniel unbuckled his seatbelt mid-flight I had to break my stare-at-the-horizon plan to re-buckle him. Still, even Pete, with his fear of flying (though he says he's not afraid to FLY; he's afraid to DIE), did very well.
