Make my day...

We were at Chik-Fil-A, a great place to let Dan get some fun time on a rainy day. We'd eaten lunch and just handled the spitting-at-the-girls-who-ripped-his-Sponge-Bob-sticker incident.

A harried Mom was walking to the door with a 3 year-old boy, a girl about two and a baby in an infant carrier. The boy makes a beeline for the play area while the Mom tells him, "No, not today. Another day..." which the boy completely ignored. The mother became more insistent, and Dan said to her, "He's not listening."

The Mom agreed, and asked Dan if he listens to his Mommy.

My kid, honest as the say is long, replied, "Not really."

The Mom threw back her head and laughed, looked at me and said, "He just made my day."

I know how she feels.
