Today we went to a local library branch we'd not been to before. It's on the campus of one of my alma maters, but was built after I graduated. They were hosting a book fair today for kids, so we headed over.
Oh. My. Gosh.
This place was amazing. They have a huge Children's section. Huge. There's a really cool play area and about thirty times as many books than the children's section of our little local branch (perhaps there's a better branch for us to visit than the one right next to a retirement community, but man, we love our librarian!).
They have these cute little reading houses where you can snuggle your munchkin while reading about trains or butterflies or Curious George.
Or if you prefer to be "on the water" you can ride a boat to read instead.
Really, quite cool.
And today they were doing a book fair. We only went for a little over an hour, but there were activities scheduled all day. Dan said no to face painting and crafts, though I made a really cute frog puppet.
There were visits from Curious George...
And Winnie the Pooh...
Dora the Explorer was also there, but Dan totally dissed her. Sorry Dora.
They had shows all day, too. We caught this fun show, and the big creatures really made Dan giggle...
