Dan woke early on his seventh birthday, raring to go and enjoy the day.
His birthday breakfast of choice? Sugary cereal, with flair...
His first present was his new Angry Birds shirt...
He opened another present from Aunt Ami, Uncle Chris and Jake...
And one more for now - a Captain Underpants book to read in the car, as we had a longish drive to get to Bryson City...
We drove to Bryson City and embarked on the Smoky Mountain Railroad excursion to Nantahala Gorge...
And saw some of the most beautiful scenery in the country...
Dan did some photography of his own, including this self portrait...
We stopped at the gorge for a picnic lunch, and afterward Pete and Dan threw stones in the river...
We all really enjoyed it, but were happy to get into air conditioning, and on our way back home to continue the birthday festivities!
