We never should have left the house...

Sunday's plans were to head down to the train museum, then after Dan's nap get him his first haircut. Pete wants to take Dan for a ride in a locomotive engine car. Since Dan says "Choooooooooooo Choooooooo" whenever we go over railroad tracks, and whenever he sees anything with a train on it (which in my house is pretty often!), we think it will be a BIG hit!

Well, it was a bust.

First, Pete & I got into an argument on the way there. The good news is it made the hour-plus ride go by quickly. More goodnews is that we were fine by the time we got there.

We getthere and enter the museum only to find we can't ride the locomotive that day. They're doing maintenance for the entire month of September.

Sigh.

So instead of spending the money just to look around we decided to save it and come back when the locomotive is available. Then we thought about going to Metrozoo (the museum is in the zoo parking lot), but decided to save that for a full-day excursion some other time.

We got back into the car and decided to go another 20 minutes south to have lunch at the Florida City Applebees. They supposedly bought one of Pete's train prints to hang there when it was being built and decorated. Well, if it's there we couldn't find it.

Sigh.

So we headed home.

While Dan was napping I called Cartoon Cuts (the place we want to go for his first haircut). They are really good with kids, and they give a cute certificate and keepsake commemorating Baby's First Haircut. Well, they have shut down because they are moving and will re-open in the new location in three weeks.

Sigh.

We never should have left the house. And we only took two pictures the entire day.

At least we were together...
