Weren't you in the next womb....?

Today we went to Lexi's birthday party. She is the middle daughter of my friend Shannon. We worked together and were pregnant at the same time. We used to put our bellies up to each other to let the kids "chat". The connection was formed early.

They live about an hour away now. Even though they haven't seen each other for a year (Shannon - we suck), Lexi and Daniel were thick as thieves immediately. They really enjoyed playing ring-around-the-rosy in the pool, and the romance that Shannon has been trying to foster since before they were born may be blossoming. If she looks anything like her beautiful and sunningly talented older sister Katie (winner of American Idol 2014) she's going to be a knockout. Don't break my baby's heart, ya hear?

This was the first time we got to meet Gaby - sweet and gorgeous and already 6 months old. My uterus got a bit achy just looking at her. Daniel loved her - and her toys. He just thinks he can still fit in a bouncy seat and an exersaucer. Not so much, oh husky one. And, apparently, he thought she needed a little clean-up.

He was the one who needed the cleanup. We kept catching him with his fingers in the cake. Hey, he has priorities.

After a very wonderful day we headed home. He was asleep 5 minutes after we got in the car. I had an hour's drive. The police car, in front of me the ENTIRE TRIP, kept me not so far over the speed limit, too.

Sleep tight, sweet boy. I know I will.
