Trains and rocks on a cool, crisp Autumn day...

Our first full day in Connecticut dawned early for us, what with the excitement of being away from home and with Cousin Adam.

So much so that being locked in the dog's cage didn't bother him at all...

The weather was absolutely gorgeous - sunny and in the sixties. It was the kind of day that really must be spent outside - unless you happen to be a train enthusiast (or married to one) and a large regional train show is less than two miles away...

So, we went to the train show. And although I support this great passion of Pete's, part of me thinks that the expression on Daniel's face in the first photo is the same one I was sporting.

Pete, on the other hand, was in his element...

Like father, like son...

Daniel enjoyed the train display...

Especially this one, where the tracks run alongside an amusement park, and a circus train is coming down the track...

We did see some naughty lions...

We spent the rest of the day enjoying the weather. The boys collected rocks...

And Pete did some man-work, fixing the mailbox.
