Until two days ago Daniel wanted to be a scarecrow, with a pumpkin for a head. Thank goodness we hadn't yet begun making it, because Daniel decided he didn't want to be a scarecrow anymore. And he wanted to use a box.
After some thought we came up with the idea of a lemonade stand, but Dan decided to change it to a Bake Sale when he realized he'd get to eat his costume.
We had lots of fun painting the box (and if those colors look familiar, that's because you can also see them on my kitchen walls)...
Daniel loved helping to decorate the cupcakes, cookies and brownies...
Daniel decided to put a pumpkin on one side...
And a ghost on the other...
I just love this little guy.
We arrived at school early to get ready for the parade...
Everyone in the class looked terrific in their costumes!
The parade was terrific. Daniel was so proud of his costume!
After the parade there was a party in the classroom. They ate and decorated cookies...
Did some crafts...
And took turns getting wrapped up like mummies. Dan didn't want to be wrapped, but he had fun wrapping the others!
Isn't Ms. Irwin a good sport?
They finished off the party by writing a book about their fun day...
And so did I.
Here are the rest of the photos from today...
